June 1st-June 5th

Parents,

Unfortunately, I have made yet another mistake.  (I know this is extremely surprising!)  D-Track has one less week to test than previously thought.  Therefore, we will meed to start testing THIS week.  We will begin with the 5th Grade Core Language Arts Test tomorrow, June 2nd.  We will continue with the science and math portions of the test next week. If you'd like, students may bring snacks (enough for the entire class) to eat during the testing.  I feel it relaxes those who have testing anxiety, in that it helps the students look forward to testing instead of dreading it.  You can send the snacks this week and next.

As a result of ALL of the testing along with other end-of-year activities (assemblies) that will be occurring, parent volunteers will NOT be needed to run shared reading groups for the rest of the school year.  I appreciate all that you've done to assist me, your child, and the other students in my class this year.  As a parent of a child in school, I've found the value of being involved in your own child's education.  I feel it's the one consistently motivating reason for a child to try to do well in school.  And I thank you for your involvement.
